How do I restore a backup?

Open Settings in Keepbook and tap Restore from a Backup. Choose a day and confirm. Your register then matches that day. Keepbook saves a copy of your register as it is now first, so you can come back to it.

Where are my backups kept?

In the Keepbook folder in your iCloud Drive. You can see them in the Files app. Keepbook makes a backup every day you use it and keeps each one for 30 days.

If iCloud Drive is turned off, backups are kept on the device only. Sign in to iCloud in the Settings app so your backups survive losing the device.

My iPhone and iPad show different entries

1. Check that both devices are signed in to the same Apple Account.
2. Check that iCloud Drive is on, and that Keepbook is allowed to use iCloud, in the Settings app.
3. Open Keepbook on both devices while connected to Wi-Fi.

Settings in Keepbook shows whether sync is up to date.

How do I import from Accounts 2 or Accounts 3?

1. In Accounts, export an account as CSV and save the file to your device.
2. In Keepbook, open Settings and tap Import from Accounts.
3. Choose the file. Keepbook shows the number of entries, the dates and the ending balance.
4. Tap Import. Nothing is saved before that.

Import one file for each account.

How do I import from another app or a spreadsheet?

Keepbook reads a CSV file, a plain list that any spreadsheet can open and save. If your old app can export your entries, open that file in a spreadsheet such as Numbers or Excel and arrange it like this.

1. Make the first row these seven column names, in this order: Date, Description, Category, Amount, Check Number, Reconciled, Memo.
2. Put one entry on each row. Leave a cell empty if you have nothing for it, but keep all seven columns and add no others.
3. Write dates as month, day and year with slashes, such as 9/28/2026.
4. Write payments as negative amounts, such as -125.00, and deposits as plain amounts, such as 2150.00.
5. For your starting balance, add a row with the date you started and the balance as its amount.
6. In the Reconciled column, put an x for entries that have cleared your bank. Leave it empty for the rest.
7. Save or export the sheet as CSV, one file for each account, and save it to your iPhone or iPad.
8. In Keepbook, open Settings and tap Import from Accounts, then choose the file.

Keepbook shows the number of entries and the ending balance before anything is saved. Check that the ending balance matches your old register. If a row cannot be read, Keepbook leaves it out and tells you which one.

What does the free version include?

One account and up to 50 entries, with daily backups and restore. The one-time unlock adds unlimited accounts and entries, iCloud sync between your devices, and export and print.

If you import a file with more than 50 entries, Keepbook shows the preview and then asks for the unlock. Nothing is saved until you unlock. Entries already in your register are never hidden or removed.

I paid for the unlock and have a new phone

Sign in with the same Apple Account and use Restore Purchases in Keepbook. You are not charged again.

Apple handles all App Store payments and refunds. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com.
